2011-11-08 | Two mining ventilations shafts at the Somincor copper ore mine in Portugal, each more than 600m deep and 4.0 m diameter, are being bored using shaft boring techniques by specialist contractor Drillcon Iberia SA using Sandvik reaming heads.

2011-09-29 | The Hede–Älvängen railway tunnel near Gothenburg, Sweden, is rapidly on its way to completion. The project got under way in February 2010 and by January this year, more than two thirds of the 1.8 km tunnel had been excavated.
