Nord-Lock became a member of SMTG in September 2009. Based in northern Sweden, Nord-Lock produces a wedge locking system which provides bolt security to a large variety of industries worldwide. In tunnelling, mining and drilling equipment, the Nord-Lock system has proven to be very effective against bolt loosening.

Nord-Lock is used where strong vibration can cause bolted joints to vibrate loose. The reliable securing component is commonly used in applications exposed to severe vibration and dynamic loads, such as hydraulic hammers, mobile crusher units, screens, feeders, raise borers, drill rigs, underground loaders, pumps, compressors, crawler tracks and conveyors.
Nord-Lock uses tension instead of friction to secure bolted joints. Thereby the risk of unintentional loosening is eliminated. The vibration test diagram shows the bolt tension of some common fasteners during a Junker vibration test, according to the DIN 65151 standard. Most of the commonly used locking devices show limited performance when exposed to vibration. The vibration tests with Nord-Lock show a positive result; only some initial tension is lost due to normal settlements. The wedge-locking function proves itself with the clear increase in tension during un-tightening.
Nord-Lock performs live Junker demonstrations and offers local support through its sales offices and partners. Find out more about the Nord-Lock bolt securing system through www.nord-lock.com.
